Ball Season (January - February)

Vienna's Ball Season kicks off on New Year's Eve and runs throughout January and February. There are hundreds of balls to choose from and attending one is an absolute must if you visit at this time of year.

Viennese Dream on Ice (January - March)

At this time of year the square on front of the City Hall is transformed into a huge ice rink offering a unique experience for skaters of any age. City Hall is beautifully lit, making night-time skating a special Viennese treat.

Concert Season (September - June)

This is the time of year to see the major concerts. You can hear Mozart at the Schönbrunn Palace, attend the grandest operas at Staatsoper or enjoy Strauss waltzes almost anywhere.

Christmas Markets (November - December)

Christmas markets transform the city from mid-November. The lights, the aroma of the food and the countless stalls in many markets make it a magical time to visit the city.
