Transportation from Bangkok

Bangkok is served by two airports: Suvarnabhumi Airport also known as the New Bangkok International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport also known as Old Bangkok International airport. The Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport has a huge Terminal divided into concourses. Level 4 serves for the departures of international flights and level 2 serves for the arrival of flights. Most of the buses operate from the bus terminal which is at some distance from the terminal and is reached by a free shuttle. Various modes of transportation such as taxis, limos and buses ply from the airport to help passengers to get into the city center.

• Local Time: Local time is GMT +7.

• Currency: The currency used in Bankok is the Baht (THB). Currency can be exchanged at the airport, banks and even hotels. Major credit cards are accepted and ATMs can be found throughout the city. Banks are open on weekdays.

• Communication: Thailand's international dialing number is +66. Internet cafes can be found through Bangkok, and most hotels in Bangkok have internet access in their rooms.

• Electricity: 220 volts, 50Hz. Both flat and round two-pin plugs are used. One should bring an adapter.

• Temperature: The average temperature is 90˚F during the summer and approximately 82˚F during the winter.

• Currency: The Thai Baht (THB).

• Language: The official language is Thai. The English language can also be very useful when visiting touristic attractions.

• Required travel documents: The rules and regulations of travel documents and visa applications change frequently. There can also be different requirements.
