Enjoy the beauty of nature in Japan

Come explore the country of Japan during the season of spring and summer when Mother Nature decorates the country of Japan with a carpet of blooming flowers.

First, if you're planning travel in Spring, be sure to check the "Sakura Zensen" or "The cherry blossom front" which refers to the advance of the cherry blossoms throughout Japan. Although cherry blossoms may already be visible on the island of Okinawa, off in the southern part of Japan, from as early as February, the main stream of cherry blossoms will start from Kyushu in March and will end in Hokkaido in May.

Second, don't miss the beautiful season of summer in Hokkaido when the fields turn into nature's magnificient piece of art. A must-see landscape, includes the famous lavender fields of Furano, attracting large numbers of visitors, both domestic and from overseas.

Lastly, summer will not come to an end without seeing the various fireworks light up the night skies in Japan. Go explore the different kind of "natsu matsuri", of Japanese summer festivals, that will be held throughout the months of July and August.

Follow the "Sakura Zensen"

Enjoy the symbolic pastel pink sakura, or Japanese cherry blossoms, by planning your trip to this amazing country during the spring season. In late March, the cherry blossoms are expected to start blooming through the main islands of Japan, from the southern island of Kyushu. View the "Sakurajima", the iconic mountain of Kagoshima, enjoy the famous food stalls or yatai of Fukuoka, and relax in the soothing hot springs or onsen of Beppu or Yufuin in Oita Prefecture.

Make a stop over and experience the beauty of the Shikoku region and perhaps start your Shikoku Henro Trail and start your pilgrimage of 88 temples while gazing at the cherry blossoms in late March to early April. Then hop on over to Honshu, the main island of Japan and why not visit the Izumo Taisha, or Izumo Grand Shrine, in Shimane, which is said to be one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan. The kami, or main deity, enshrined here is known for good relationships and marriage. Follow the sakura blossoms and adventure up north and visit other famous cities, including Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Tokyo, Sendai during the month of April, and end your trip in the city of Sapporo. Be sure to treat yourself to a nice feast of delicious local cuisines, including fresh seafood and enjoy a nice taste of freshly brewed Sapporo beer at the Hokkaido brewery.

Hokkaido- Furano and Biei

Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan, is one of the country's attractive destination spots. Not only including the various array of delicious cuisines, including their famous and tasty miso ramens and fresh seafood, the island is also the home of Shiretoko National Park, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visitors can explore the various faces this island holds, but it is only during the summer where one can awe at the amazing site of beautiful flower fields, including the town of Furano which is famous for their lavender cultivation. Be sure to take the train and explore the neighboring towns, including Biei, and come taste the popular lavender ice-cream in person.

Illumination in the night sky

One of the highlights of planning a trip to Japan in the summer is to see the breath-taking lit night sky during one of the Hanabi Taikai (or firework festivals) held throughout Japan during the months of July and August. Find spectucular firework performances in rural areas, such as the the Nagaoka Matsuri in Niigata Prefecture, Miyajima Fireworks Festival in Hiroshima Prefecture, Omagari National Fireworks of Akita Prefecture or enjoy the city firework festivals, including the popular Yokohama Fireworks in Kanagawa Prefecture and the Sumida River Fireworks Festival in Tokyo.
