A popular attraction in Osaka is Osaka Castle. The castle was built in the 16th century and played an important role in the unification of Japan. The castle endured a number of destructions over the centuries and still stands today, restored and open to tourists. The accompanying museum in the castle and the gardens around it are impressive and elegant.
Kurumon Ichiba Market
Kurumon Ichiba market is one of the central food markets in Osaka, Japan. This is a pretty 'touristy' market, but the food and atmosphere offered here is a great way to appreciate your time in Osaka.
Shitenno-ji Temple
Shitenno-ji Temple was found in 593 and is one of the oldest buddhist temples in Japan. The outer temples grounds are free to enter but an admission is required to enter the inner areas of the temple. On the 21st and 22nd of each month there is a flea market just outside the temple.
