How to find out which airplane you are flying with

The detailed flight details shown in the image appear when you click on flight details, under the airline logo on the left. Next, click on the flight number, in this case EK146, and find the name of the airplane you are flying with at the bottom. On a flight to Bangkok with Emirates, you will be boarding a Boeing 777-300ER. Also, you can see straight away that you are guaranteed 32 inches of legroom in economy class and which facilities are available.

These are the most common airplanes

When looking into common airplanes, we distinguish between short- or medium-haul flights and long-haul flights. So that you can pre-approve your airplane before taking off.

Short-and medium-haul flights

If you are flying to a country within the USA or within Europe, chances are you will be boarding an Airbus A320 or a Boeing 737-800. Our database shows that these airplanes are most often used for those (shorter) flights. The Airbus A320 has four types: the A318, the A319, the A320, and the A321. The lower the number, the smaller the airplane.

Long-haul flights

If you are flying to a destination a bit further away, chances are you will be boarding an Airbus A380, an Airbus A330-300, Airbus A350, Boeing 777, or Boeing 787.
