How to beat the Summer heat?
We can all agree that the best part of Summer is how sunny and bright out it gets during the season. We can also agree that the worst part of Summer is the heat. With temperatures ranging from 80-100+ °F, it can be easy to just turn on the fans and the A/C unit and leave it at that. At the same time though, it can also be a very boring way to spend your Summer as well. So, we hope that these tips will inspire you to beat the summer heat and make the season more enjoyable!
Water Activities
If you have a pool in the backyard of your house, then swimming and relaxing in it is the best thing you can do! However, if you don’t have one, or you’re just looking for something more extreme, then you should build your own slip and slide. With a big roll of thick plastic and other materials, you can slide all day! Another water activity you could do as well is to have a water fight using balloons and super soakers.
Make Refreshing Drinks
One of the best and cheapest ways to beat the summer heat is to have your own drink bar. Make simple and tasty drinks such as lemonade, slushies, smoothies, and mocktails for the kids. For the adults, make various refreshing cocktails such as margaritas, mojitos, pina coladas, daiquiris, and many more.
Make Frozen Treats
Another way to beat the heat is by making frozen treats. Instead of spending money at the grocery store, you can just buy an ice cream maker and make anything you want with it. Experiment with different and crazy flavors and toppings, and use that ice cream to make milkshakes and popsicles with them too!
Eat Cold Foods
Since the weather is going to be so hot during the season, it’s best that you avoid eating a lot of hot and spicy foods. Instead, use this Summer to eat lots of cold foods that will help you stay cool and keep you healthy. Salads are your best friend, and with enough imagination the many ways you can make them are endless. You should also try gazpacho and poke if you want to expand your palate as well.
Do Yoga
Save your sweat and improve your flexibility by doing lots of yoga! Yoga focuses on having a relaxed body and mind in order to slowly stretch those muscles of yours. So, the Summer is a great opportunity to learn, and is a more refreshing form of exercise rather than the usual weightlifting and cardio you do throughout most of the year.
