The main international gateway to Osaka is Kansai International Airport. The airport is situated 38 km southwest of Osaka city. Airport has all the transportation facilities such as rail , buses , taxis and cars to get into Osaka city.The airport has two railway connections to the city: JR West’s Kansai Airport Line and the private Nankai Electric Railway that serves trains every 40 minutes to the city centre. Buses are available outside the terminal and tickets can be purchased on board. Taxis are plenty outside the terminal waiting for passengers.
Buses are available to all major hotels and surrounding destinations. Buses arrive at the International Departures area and depart from the Arrivals areas. Tickets can be purchased outside the terminals. For some destinations the airport limousine buses are preferable by the visitors.For more information on bus, shuttle and limousines service there is a total of six information counters at the airport to help the tourists. There are two on the first floor of the passenger terminal building, one in the centre of the second floor and three on the fourth floor.
Passengers willing to have a limo ride can opt for the limousines by doing a pre-booking before arriving at the airport. A number of local agencies offer this service and there is a car rental booth located within the airport terminal. Services are available even on hourly basis.
Taxis are readily available outside the terminal. The journey from the airport to the city takes approximately 50 minutes. Car rental desks can be found on the 1st floor in the south area. Car Companies include Japaren, Matsuda and Mitsubishi that offer best quality service to all the passengers.
The Kansai Airport Station is served by Japanese Railways. Trains are a relatively quick, cheap and easy way to get to almost all destinations. Trains can be accessed from second floor of the airport. There is an airport express running to and from the Osaka station. The Kansai Airport Rapid Service (the normal express train, silver with blue trim) gives more stops along the way but costs less to Osaka city.
