Porter Airlines is a regional airline owned by Porter Aviation Holdings (formerly REGCO Holdings Inc). Its headquarters are based at Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto, Canada. The airline has a fleet of 29 vessels, predominantly comprised of Canadian-built Bombardier Q-400 craft.
The airline connects 15 domestic cities in Canada and nine cities in the US. It has an interline agreement with seven other carriers, including JetBlue, Icelandair, Qatar Airways, and more. You can, therefore, expect Porter to start your international journey, then shift to a secondary flight provider along the way to reach cities that the company does not cover.
Porter's fleet of 26 aircraft consists of 18 Bombardier Dash and 8 Q400 NextGen planes. All the aircraft is exclusively for short-haul journeys.
Porter Airlines consists of a fleet of planes designed with comfortable leather seats in Economy Class cabin. Porter Airlines has no Business Class. For a memorable travel experience, its cabin crew offers free wine and alcoholic drinks, such as beer, served in glassware. They also serve snacks, water, and coffee at their headquarters in Toronto. Porter's short-haul flights do not include in-flight entertainment in the form of videos, audios, or any other type of game.
The fleets feature 76 seats arranged in a 2-2 configuration. All seats are padded and come with 32"" pitch and sizable legroom. Dash 8-400 crafts come in the height of about 8.4m and cabin aisle height of approximately 1.95 m. They are the quietest fleet of turboprops today.
Initially, flyers with Porter Airlines enjoyed more extended lounge services at the company's base at Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto. The amenities included ambiance and relaxing bar services, local and international delicacies, charging points, complimentary WiFi, and a lot more. However, after the renovation of the port in 2015, Neuroport--another lounge service provider in the city--took over all its lounge operations. Passengers in Porter planes can now enjoy the previous services at either Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) or Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
