Passengers should check their baggage at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Waiting times vary across airports. China Eastern Airlines will not reserve seats for passengers who have not presented themselves at the check-in desk 60 minutes prior to departure.

Business Class
Business Class passengers can take 30 kg/ 66 lbs of checked luggage on domestic flights. International China Eastern Airlines flights permit Business Class passengers 2 pieces of checked luggage, each weighing no more than 32 kg/ 70 lbs. On domestic and international flights, Business Class passengers are allowed 1 piece of carry-on luggage not exceeding 10 kg/ 22 lbs.
Economy Class
Checked-luggage allowance for domestic China Eastern Airlines flights is 20 kg/ 44 lbs. International Economy Class passengers are permitted 2 pieces of checked luggage, each weighing no more than 23 kg/ 50 lbs. Economy Class passengers on domestic and international flights can carry-on 1 piece of luggage, weighing no more than 10 kg/ 22 lbs.
The dimensions (length x width x height) of checked luggage for domestic and international flights should not exceed 158 cm/ 62 in. For domestic flights, carry-on luggage but not exceed the dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm/ 21.6 x 15.8 x 7.9 in. For international flights, carry-on luggage must be within the dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25 cm/ 22 x 17.7 x 9.8 in.
Oversized and excess baggage incurs fees according to China Eastern Airlines baggage policy. Sporting and musical equipment that is within allowed luggage dimensions may be permitted under checked baggage, but passengers must alert airline staff of their requirements ahead of arrival at the airport. Those traveling with an infant are allowed to carry-on essentials such as food, diapers, and a collapsible lightweight stroller, as long as it fits within the baggage rack.
