Founded in 2006 and commencing operations with a modest fleet of one Airbus A340-313 and six Boeing 737-800, Caribbean Airlines undertook its maiden flight on the 1st January 2007. At the time, the airline was serving the routes to London, Toronto, New York, Miami, Guyana, and Jamaica, with scheduled stops in Antigua, Barbados, and St. Maarten. By 2007, the airline had acquired the Tobago Express and added new Caribbean destinations to its routes. In 2008, Caribbean Airlines purchased an additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its fleet and added Caracas, additional U.S. routes and new Caribbean destinations to its itinerary. In the same year, the company increased its fleet size by adding an additional 737-800. By 2010, the airline had acquired Air Jamaica and increased its fleet size further by adding fifteen Boeing 737-800s and nine ATR 72-600s.
Today, Caribbean Airlines boasts an impressive fleet of 17 aircraft, flies to more than 18 destinations, employs more than 1,500 staff, and is the largest airline in the Caribbean. This premier airline has also been the first to introduce a number of flagship policies and initiatives, such as being the first airline to remove its fuel surcharge, permitting passengers two checked bags free of charge and continuing to serve complimentary meals and refreshments, when other airlines had withdrawn them. The airline offers both Economy and Business Class tickets to all of its destinations. Check-in: Passengers have the option to check-in online from 24 hours to three hours prior to departure. Alternatively, passengers can check-in at the airport kiosk.

One piece of carry-on baggage is permitted with maximum dimensions of 114 cm irrespective of destination or fare class.
Business Class passengers are permitted two pieces of checked baggage with maximum dimensions of 157 cm and weighing no more than 32 kg per bag on International flights.
Economy Class Passengers are permitted two pieces of checked baggage with maximum dimensions of 157 cm and weighing no more than 23 kg per bag on international flights.
Passengers flying to Intra-Caribbean and South American destinations are permitted two items of checked baggage with dimensions no larger than 157 cm and weighing no more than 23 kg per bag irrespective of fare class.
