Air Europa is the third Spanish airline; flying to more than 40 countries for more than 30 years. The main hub is Madrid Barajas Int’ Airport. Air Europa will have flights to Madrid
from Miami and JFK operated with the Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 featuring a special configuration in Business Class (1-2-1) with fully reclinable seats and all Business Class passengers having access to the aisle. It is composed of 38 aircraft whose average age does not exceed 4 years. The company is a leader in environmental conservation processes. In 2018, the German environmental organization Atmosfair rated Air Europa as the most efficient European network airline.
Air Europa takes passengers to some of the most incredible and fascinating destinations in Europe and America. The company flies over the Atlantic to discover 21 destinations in the United States and Latin America. As one of the most important players in the connection between Europe and America that it is, Air Europa has increased its offer of seats to America in 2023 to almost 3 million seats available. In addition, from December it will increase frequencies to most of the destinations in South America and will reinforce its Christmas flights to Salvador de Bahia, Asuncion, New York and Bolivia.
As for its European network, Air Europa accompanies passengers to 26 destinations in Spain and the Old Continent, a varied map to which in summer other magical and interesting places such as Athens, cradle of European civilization; Santorini and Alghero are added. Next summer, Air Europa will once again land in Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic. Also in the summer season, the airline flies to North Africa and takes its passengers to Marrakech and the Tunisian capital.
The concentration of its aircraft on just two models: the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, for transoceanic flights, and the Boeing 737 for short and medium-haul routes, has enabled Air Europa to excel in performance and operational efficiency.
By using only two models, greater efficiency has been achieved in the ratio of fuel consumption to passenger travel. Both the Boeing 737 and the Boeing 787 are designed to reduce fuel consumption, and, in addition, their larger capacity means that more passengers can be served on fewer flights, which helps to reduce emissions.
The company's flagship model, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of the world's most advanced long-haul aircraft in terms of safety, comfort and technological innovations, is able to reduce fuel consumption by 20% compared to other similar models and improving noise levels by 60%. Undoubtedly, a unique combination of the most comfortable interior and the most exceptional performance.
Air Europa aspires to make all passengers feel totally at home in a comfortable setting with three different seat classes with various ranges of seat distances to suit each customer’s comfort.
After making a breakthrough in the sector with the new Business class, where privacy and comfort go hand in hand to ensure a unique passenger experience, Air Europa has become the first Spanish airline to activate the Plusgrade platform, which allows bidding for an improvement or "upgrade" of the contracted service. In other words, the airline makes it easier for customers with Economy class tickets to opt for an upgrade and enjoy not only the comfort of seats in this category and the variety and quality of services on board, but also access to airport lounges, check-in at an exclusive counter or priority boarding. Never before has it been so close to being able to enjoy the excellence of the new Business class, one of Air Europa's trademarks.
The creative and avant-garde cuisine of award-winning chef Martín Berasategui, which, until now, could be tasted when traveling in Business Class, is also available to all Economy Class passengers on intercontinental flights departing from Madrid. With the "De Martín" menu, all customers can discover and taste on board the dishes of the Spanish chef with the most Michelin stars in Spain, twelve, and third in the world.
In addition to Berasategui's menu, three other off-menu menus will gradually be offered on transoceanic flights to the Spanish capital. All off-menu meals will include a second service to complement the meal during the flight.
Air Europa has made sustainability one of the most important pillars of its Strategic Plan 2023-2025, with which it faces the consolidation and expansion process in which it is immersed. With its "Vuelo 2030", a project that brings together 45 environmental, economic and social initiatives, it is moving towards a more sustainable future.
Among others, the airline is implementing measures ranging from the increased use of sustainable fuel (SAF) to the use of technologies aimed at reducing the use of paper and consuming less energy throughout its operations. Some of these are already having a direct impact on the business, as in 2022 alone, the tons of fuel per kilometer transported were reduced by 26% compared to 2017, and by 11% compared to 2021. Efforts are also materialized in the widespread use of compostable and recyclable materials on board aircraft or to the use of increasingly advanced digital systems. Air Europa has also adopted measures to offset its carbon footprint by planting 1,700 trees in Guadalajara, which will neutralize more than 150 tons of CO2 over the next 50 years. Air Europa is in the process of evaluating and studying emission compensation programs for customers for their implementation.
The airline, in its strongest commitment to eradicating inequality and helping the most vulnerable communities, has received the "Solidarity Company" seal from Manos Unidas for its social responsibility and contribution to sustainable development.
The Air Europa Suma loyalty program, one of the most complete, generous, attractive and innovative in the market, and from which more than two million users are already benefiting, is also one of the most committed to sustainability and care for the environment. Air Europa has reached an agreement with the Treedom organization to offer its customers the possibility of exchanging their accrued miles for trees and contribute to their planting in Ecuador and Colombia, thus helping the environment and local farming communities.
