About Larnaca
Situated in southern Cyprus, the great number of sarcophagi (larnakes in Greek) that have been discovered at Larnaca may have given rise to the city’s name. The city is beside a salt lake that fills with flamingos each winter, to bring a splash of colour when the sun isn’t as strong. Local cuisine in the city’s many fine restaurants or fresh fish eaten beach side are highlights.
