5 tips to hold on to your holiday feeling
That moment when you arrive back in Canada and you don’t want walk through the jet bridge... But you have to because the other passengers are waiting behind you. You’re standing next to the luggage carousel and silently hope that your baggage isn’t there… Then you could offer to pick it up at your holiday destination (because you wouldn’t mind at all.) We all know how it feels to be back home after an amazing holiday. Would you also like to hold on to that holiday feeling just a bit longer? Check out the five tips below on how to keep that holiday feeling.
1. Stay in relax mode
It’s the most important one but also the toughest one. We all know how it goes. After one day you feel like you’ve lost the holiday feeling. You’re back to your daily routine... But no, not this time! This time it’s going to be different! You are going to keep that holiday feeling. How? By thinking of your holiday feeling every time you are stressed out or when you need some positive vibes. Zennnn.
2. Print and hang up your holiday pictures
Print your holiday pictures out immediately and hang them up somewhere nice. Such as your bedroom wall. The first thing you look at in the morning will be those beautiful palm trees and happy faces. Good way to start of your day with a smile!
3. Prepare meals from the country you visited
The food you had on your holiday is one of the most important parts of your adventure. Did you have nice meals? Buy a cooking book with the meals from your holiday destination and start cooking. Cook one of the meals you had every week. Yes, it takes some time but it’s all worth it. Treat yourself!
4. Listen to your holiday music
Do you know that feeling? When you’re lying on the beach, under the sun… Or when you’re traveling by bus and you are listening to some music. Nice thing about music is that it instantly reminds you of all the great memories! Put that salsa music on and dance in the living room. Or act as if you’re in a bar in Ibiza (of course with a cocktail).
5. Hold on to the good resolutions
Good resolutions just pop up when you’re lying on the beach because that’s when you’re relaxed and have more time to think. “I’m going to do this differently, and I’m going to do this like that!” Write all your resolutions down and have a look at it every now and then when you’re home. Take a look at the resolutions you can already start with, or the ones you have to prepare. This way you will not lose your resolutions easily, and the flame of positivity will still be burning.
