The best places to visit in Easter
Easter is around the corner and it's time to plan your next adventure. Whether you fancy cycling in Amsterdam or shopping in New York, check out our list for the best destinations during Easter and prepare for a trip you'll never forget!
1. Amsterdam
Amsterdam has a lot to offer during April. Next to the beautiful canals and spring flowers, many museums and shops are open. Discover the historical house of Anne Frank or give yourself a cultural boost by visiting the Van Gogh museum. Since Easter weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the year in Amsterdam, make sure that you buy your tickets in advance. While you are in city, make sure to experience other cultures as well by indulging in some French, Indian, or Russian meals.
2. Havana
It seems like time moves a lot slower in Havana. And that is exactly what you need during Easter! You'll really enjoy the ancient beauty of Cuba. Hop in an oldtimer and drive off during the weekend. It's around 25°C during April so don't miss out on the beautiful beach in Varadero. Enjoy some fresh fish at the local restaurants, grab a drink and enjoy the night. While you're there, make sure to go to the beach where locals come together and play Cuban music all night long. Dance the night away!
3. Prague
Prague has a beautiful market during Easter at the Old Town Square. Pretty accessories can be found such as jewellery, hand-made wooden toys, puppets and glassware. Next to the market, you will find traditional local food that is only served during the Easter weekend. While you're enjoying traditional performances by dancers at the Old Town Square, indulge in a large ham on a spit or delicious klobása, which are barbequed sausages. Finish the meal with some trdelník which is a pastry with melted sugar on top. Definitely the best Easter you'll have!
4. Malaga
Why not head to Spain for Easter? Celebrate your days off by visiting the beautiful city of Malaga. Easter is celebrated differently in Andalusia. During Easter, Malaga completely transforms into a decorated city with statues from Jesus and Mary. It's also not surprising when you see the whole city gathering to see parades starting at local churches going to the cathedral and back. It's an event that only happens once a year so don't miss out!
5. New York
The Big Apple. During Easter it's the perfect time to start shopping in New York. Even though it's a public holiday, all the shops are open so you'll not be hindered during your shopping spree. Are you a fashion addict? Head to Madison Avenue for the designer outlets. Or are you a foodie? There are multiple shops and restaurants on every streetcorner of New York so you have plenty of choice to indulge in some of the weirdest culinary creations made in New York. Don't forget to visit the Statue of Liberty to finish off your trip in style!
6. Paris
It's time to relax and treat yourself to a nice trip. Paris is the perfect place to visit during Easter. Go to one of the many chocolateries where magnificent chocolate art is created. Also, if the weather is beautiful, it's fun to have a picnic next to the Eiffel Tower while enjoying a bottle of French wine and a piece of Camembert. What a perfect time to visit French cafes and to live as a true Parisian.
