Over the past decade, RB has made significant investments in projects that will help usher in a greener future.

➡️ Introduced RB's new fleet, which includes the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Airbus 320NEO, are more fuel-efficient, make less noise pollution, and put out less carbon dioxide.
➡️ Replaced its Boeing 787 carpets with recycled Econyl. RB has also joined CORSIA and introduced paperless flight crew documentation.
➡️ Introduced RNGR, a unique line of limited-edition RB-branded products made from high-quality aircraft fabrics that are being phased out and are both fire-resistant and self-extinguishing. The Engineering department at RB worked on Project RNGR, which was part of RB's Young Entrepreneur Program.

• Acquisition of the Boeing 787 and Airbus NEO fitted with new generation engines and Sharklets, enhancing fuel saving and noise reduction.
• Less fuel consumption (20% lower than equivalent aircraft), carbon emissions and NOx emissions of B787. 50% reduction of noise footprint and Nox emission, up to 5,000 tonnes less CO2 emissions per year per aircraft by A320neo.

• Reduced size and weight and changed the material of magazines and other printed materials used in the cabin.
• Introduced non-stop flights to London Heathrow ceasing the Dubai-London-Dubai route.

Practical Information

• Seating: Preferred seating can be pre-purchased when booking; this option is free to Gold and Silver members of the Royal Skies programme.

• Check-in: Passengers in possession of e-tickets are able to check in from 48 hours up to 60 minutes prior to departure. Gates close between two and four hours before take-off, depending on your destination.

• Luggage Allowance: The standard weight included in the price of the flight is 30 kg in Economy Class and 40 kg in Business Class. It is possible to pre-purchase an increase in the allowance at the time of booking.

• Food and Drinks: Complimentary Halal meals are served during the flight, but passengers should note that alcoholic beverages are not available.

Founded in 1974 as an independent corporation wholly owned by the government, Royal Brunei Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Brunei. Their first commercial flight took place on 14th May 1975 from Brunei to Singapore, with further departures to Eastern Malaysia and Hong Kong taking place on the same day. Over time, the route was expanded, and flights to Manila (1976) and Bangkok (1977) were made available.

With the steady growth through the 1990s, RB got its first B767-300ER plane, which let it fly to London Gatwick in June, 1990.
