Fly with Latam Airlines Group

Jointly operated by Chilean and Brazilian investors, LATAM is one of Latin America's largest airlines. Based in Santiago, Chile, the company serves around 75 million passengers annually, which puts it up among the global elite.

LATAM started out as a merger of the airlines LAN and TAM in 2010, and has since become a global presence. The company currently schedules direct flights from Toronto to destinations in Brazil and Chile, and also serves American airports like Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, and Washington D.C.

As part of the Oneworld alliance, the airline offers a diverse range of code-sharing options, allowing travellers to easily purchase journeys involving one or more carriers. Passengers can also enjoy frequent flyer benefits via the LATAM Pass, which also allows them to earn points on fellow alliance members.

The airline operates a fleet of around 140 planes, most of which are Airbus A320 models, although 26 Boeing 787 jets have also been added. Safety-wise, the company has an exceptional record while experiencing no major accidents.

That safety record reflects a record of general success, which has seen LATAM win numerous awards, including 2020 Apex prizes for Best Cabin Service and Best Inflight Entertainment in South America.

Latam Airlines Group Travel Classes

LATAM has a strong reputation for customer service and comfort, so travellers can expect to be well taken care off. Cabin classes include familiar options like Premium Business, Premium Economy, and Standard Economy. All of them have their own unique features.

LATAM Business Class
All Business Class seats have direct aisle access, along with 45.7 cm (18 in) screens, cocktail tables, and space to store essentials. Seats can recline into 193 cm (76 in) long beds when needed, and each seat is 188 cm (74 in) apart from its nearest neighbors - providing ample space to unwind. Gourmet food is served to all passengers, who can also take their pick from a sommelier approved wine list.

LATAM Economy Classes
LATAM offers two Economy options: Premium and Standard. In Premium, passengers enjoy leather-covered seats and extra space. There are larger touchscreens, as well as individual power points for phones or laptops. All Standard seats recline if required, while seat pitches range from 78.8-86.4 cm (31-34 in). Both Economy classes come with free meals, including complimentary alcoholic drinks on international services.

Entertainment and Ground Services
Passengers shouldn't be bored with the airline's services. With 150 movies loaded into its system, kids programming, and music as well, there's something for all tastes. In-flight Wi-Fi is also available on some domestic flights, but isn't provided for international travellers.

The company operates a series of VIP Lounges, including locations at New York JFK, Miami, and Orlando (but not Toronto). Any Oneworld members can use these lounges, which offer Wi-Fi, washrooms, food and drink, comfortable seating, and more.
