Fly with ITA Airways
Italia Trasporto Aereo, or ITA Airways, is owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and is Italy's national flag carrier after replacing Alitalia on 15 October 2021. Their primary hub airport is based at Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO)and the airline provides service from Milan Linate Airport (LIN) for their domestic network and some international routes.
As of 2021, ITA Airways provides service to 44 destinations on 59 routes, with its main focus on Italy and surrounding destinations in Europe, but with expansion to further international routes by 2025.
ITA Airways Travel Classes
ITA Airways offers seats in 4 travel classes:
- Economy
- Premium Economy
- Business Class Medium Haul
- Business Class Long Haul
ITA Airways Check-in & Baggage
Online check-in is available for travellers 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight time, but for travellers flying to/from the US, the online check-in will be available 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. Check-in and reprinting of the boarding pass will be available until 90 minutes before departure for international and 45 minutes for domestic flights.
Travellers can also check-in directly at the ITA Airways counter at the airports, however, please be mindful of the check-in time limitation depending on your route. Also travellers flying to/from the US are advised to arrive at the airport early (3.5 hrs) for document verification. Allowed Luggage per cabin in ITA Airways
- Hand/Cabin bag: 1 piece which must not exceed 55 x 35 x 25 cm (H x W x D). Weight limits: up to 8 kg (Economy). A personal item (Handbag,Work backpack, laptop computer) is also allowed. ITA Airways ground staff member will provide a label ('Under the seat') for small luggages within 36 cm (H), 45 cm (W), and 20 cm (D) for both domestic and international routes.
