Important note for Etihad Airways passengers flying to the UAE

*Effective as of 27 August 2021

Travellers flying to Abu Dhabi or other entrance ports to United Arab of Emirates, must register via the ICA Smart Travel Service (UAE nationals and transit travellers are exempted). This will be mandatory for traveller(s) to register themselves prior to their departure, including every adult, child, and infant.

In addition, passengers must make sure they are verified to travel and prepared for all entry requirements prior to their flight:

• Taking a COVID-19 PCR test
• Downloading the UAE Al Hosn app
• Upload vaccination document to the app at least 5 days before their departure to receive approval

Etihad Airways offers three cabin classes. These are Economy, Business and First Class. Comfortable seats, complimentary dining and exciting entertainment are available across all classes.

Etihad Airways Check-in & Baggage

Online check-in for Etihad Airways flights opens 30 hours before and closes three hours before scheduled departure times. Boarding cards can be printed or downloaded to your mobile phone. Check-in at the airport opens four hours before departure time and close 60 minutes before your scheduled take-off time if travelling Economy and 45 minutes if flying Business or First Class.

Allowed luggage per Etihad Airways cabin class

First Class
Two checked bags are allowed for each First Class passenger. Each bag can weigh up to 32 kg (70 lbs). Two cabin bags can also be taken into the aircraft with a combined weight of 12 kg (26 lbs) as well as one small personal item such as a handbag.

Business Class
Business Class passengers have two checked pieces of luggage each. These can each weigh up to 32 kg (70 lbs). Two cabin bags are allowed with a combined weight of 12 kg (26 lbs) as well as one small personal item such as a handbag.

Economy Class
Two checked bags are permitted for each Economy Class passenger. Each bag can weigh up to 2 3kg (50 lbs). One cabin bag can be taken into the aircraft with an upper weight of 7 kg (15 lbs) as well as one small personal item such as a handbag.

Etihad Airways Allowed luggage size dimensions

The dimensions for each checked suitcase in all classes are 72 x 90 x 45 cm (28 x 35.5 x 17.5 inches). Cabin bags must measure no more than 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 inches).

Additional information

Most sports equipment and musical instruments are counted as part of your checked luggage allowance although one golf bag is permitted in addition to this. Child discounts apply up to the age of 12 years. From 7 days to 23 months infants must sit on an adult's lap while from 24 months to 12 years they must have their own seat.
