Air Tahiti Nui: One of the Pacific's Best Carriers
For almost 20 years the French airline Air Tahiti Nui has been operating flights to and from Tahiti's Faa'a International Airport. Developed to encourage tourism to the French Polynesian Island in the Pacific, the airline began operating long-haul flights in November 1998. The company currently employs over 780 people. It is the first international airline to be based in Papeete, Tahiti; it has allowed passengers from Europe and Asia easier access to the French territory and has connected the people of Tahiti to the world.
Currently, the five-aircraft fleet consists of Airbus A340-300s, but as the airline and demand for flights to Tahiti grow, they plan to switch to Boeing 787-9s in 2018. Air Tahiti Nui currently serves airports in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, France and the United States, with partner airlines which enable people all over the world to now have access to the beautiful paradise in French Polynesia.
