Aer Lingus is the flag-carrying airline of the Republic of Ireland with headquarters and its main hub at Dublin Airport. It was launched by the Irish government in 1936 but is now part of the privately-owned International Airlines Group. Its mission is 'To connect Ireland to the world' and with this aim in mind has seen success as a 'small frills' operation, blending low-cost carrier and legacy airline models.
Aer Lingus carries over 10 million passengers annually with routes to 93 destinations across Europe, North America and Asia. These include flights to Dublin from over a dozen Canadian cities including Toronto, Quebec, Vancouver, and Montreal. From Dublin, connections can be made to many European destinations. Toronto is the airline's main hub in Canada with links to European cities such as London, Madrid, Paris and Berlin. Aer Lingus also has codeshare agreements with seven airlines including Air Canada and British Airways. Aer Lingus has 57 aircraft, mainly Airbus A320-200 and A330-300, in its active fleet.
AerClub is the frequent-flyer programme of Aer Lingus. This has four tiers - Green (entry-level), Silver, Platinum and Concierge and operates with Avios. Through its codeshare arrangements, Aer Lingus has links to the Oneworld Alliance, Star Alliance and Sky Team.
